The Reason-
This exciting stallion was selected for his ability, disposition, and extraordinary bloodlines that have produced dynasty after dynasty of cutting and performance royalty, who's influences are still being heavily felt in the show arena today. A classy individual, RN Docter Pepper possesses the sturdy conformation that the Angel Spurs Ranch believes to be ideal for the performance horse. With his short back and strong loins, balanced underline, bone and overall look of proportion - RN Docter Pepper exhibits power and athleticism. RN Docter Pepper is a versatile sire, and his offspring excel in many rodeo, show, and western performance disciplines.
~~~~~~~~
RN Docter Pepper was trained in reining, working cow, and team penning but was never shown due to unknown circumstances. One can only speculate, but it was certainly not due to a lack of soundness for he was later schooled in roping, which attests to his versatility and level mind. Once retired to the breeding shed, his prowess for siring good minded, early maturing, and highly versatile colts began to demonstrate itself.
After his purchase by the Angel Spurs Ranch and relocation there in March of 2009, RN Docter Pepper was briefly brought out of retirement in order to better understand his ability. He accepted his duties with grace and surprising athleticism, and he has shown us cow, strength, trainability, and terrific memory.
Family Lineage, A Study-
Much of RN Docter Pepper's immediate family doesn't need an introduction - the names of Mr San Peppy, Cutter Bill, Genuine Doc, and Triple Royal speak volumes. All are prolific sires shared in the pedigree's of many great performers, but take a deeper look into RN Docter Pepper's lineage, and a surprising connection is revealed...
RN Docter Pepper and Equi-Stat's #3 All Time Leading Cutting Sire Peptoboonsmal
This is an in-depth study designed to take a mind past the first four generations to truly understand where these great horses have descended from, and how they are related.
Royal Blue Boon (dam of Peptoboonsmal), and Royal Dakota Maid (dam of RN Docter Pepper) share the foundation sire's "Royal Texas" and "King Black" through the same mare TEXAS DOTTIE. TEXAS DOTTIE is a daughter of "Royal Texas" by Royal King, an NCHA superstar by King P-234. TEXAS DOTTIE's dam is a daughter of "King Black", another NCHA performing and siring son of King P-234. TEXAS DOTTIE herself was bred to Royal King, resulting in the mare Royal Tincie who when crossed on the blood of Doc Bar and Poco Bueno, produced the All-Time Leading Dam of Cutting Horses Royal Blue Boon.
When the family of TEXAS DOTTIE was later crossed on the Royal King son Triple Royal - who possesses an outstanding three crosses to Royal King - the result was the mare Triple Bar Tex who when also crossed on the blood of Doc Bar and Poco Bueno, produced the mare Royal Dakota Maid.
Peppy San Badger - the sire of Peptoboonsmal - and CT MR San Peppy - the sire of RN Docter Pepper - not only share Mr San Peppy as their sire, but also a connection through their bottomside's to the foundation mare "Triangle Mare" through her daughter "Little Mother." Little Mother established herself as one of the great contributors to the Y Ranch breeding program, and R.L. Underwood. Peppy San Badger has only a single cross to "Triangle Mare", but CT Mr San Peppy has a total of three crosses to "Triangle Mare" - once through "Little Mother" and twice through her full sister "Miss Tommie I."
When the decision to breed Royal Blue Boon, who now has offspring earnings in excess of $2.6 million, to the leading sire Peppy San Badger - Peptoboonsmal was the resulting offspring, an NCHA Open Futurity Champion and Leading Sire of offspring earnings exceeding $13 million.
When the decision to breed Royal Dakota Maid, who was genetically near identical to Royal Blue Boon, to CT Mr San Peppy who shares a closer-than-average brotherly relation to Peppy San Badger - RN Docter Pepper was the resulting offspring.
Why-
The Angel Spurs Ranch asks for your consideration of RN Docter Pepper in your future breeding decisions. He is an affordable alternative to Peptoboonsmal and many of Peptoboonsmal's sons, but who's foals will be packing the same genetic punch. Breed to a stallion who's bloodlines started it all.
Royal King, Influence-
RN Docter Pepper traces through his bottom side to the great cutting stallion Royal King an impressive five times. Without the presence of Royal King in the history of the cutting horse, the influences of such noted sires as Highbrow Cat, Peptoboonsmal(2x), Boon A Little(2x), Little Trona, Smart Chic O'Lena, Autumn Acre(4x), Chula Dual, Triple Royal(3x), and Royal Chic Olena(4x) would never have been felt. The sires of tomorrow also carry the blood of Royal King: Third Cutting(3x) and Metallic Cat(3x).
Foaled ten years prior to Doc Bar, Royal King was a distinctive sire in his own right, in that he sired individuals with gentle dispositions and a willing trainability. He also had a gritty determination that he himself displayed in the cutting pen, and is acknowledged as the sire who passed along the hunkering and intense style of today's modern show horses. Royal King himself is the sire of 10 AQHA Champions, 88 working ROM's, 12 Superior cutting horses, 2 Superior reining horses, and 1 Superior western pleasure horse. He is the sire of two NCHA Hall of Fame get, Miss Nancy Bailey and Royal Chess.
Royal King is also found in the pedigree's of many of the industry's top producing mares, including Royal Blue Boon(2x), Autumn Boon(2x), Smart Peppy, and Lynx Melody just to name a few. Royal King's direct daughters have produced 88 Halter point earners, 250 Performance point earners, 21 AQHA Champions, and 6 AQHA Youth Champions with a combined 113 Open Register of Merits, 13 Amateur ROM's, and 25 Youth ROM's. He proved his versatility as the broodmare sire of Dalpha Billy who was an AQHA High-Point Jumping Gelding, and AJQHA Reserve World Champion Jumper. He proved it again through his daughter Miss Nix who was the producer of two Triple-A rated sprinters, Cajon Dimples and Cajon Bar Queen.
