The Reason-
This exciting stallion was selected for his extraordinary combination of bloodlines that have produced dynasty after dynasty of cutting and performance royalty, and who's influences are still being felt in the show arena today. A classy individual with a heart warming disposition, RN Docter Pepper possesses conformation that the Angel Spurs Ranch believes to be ideal for the performance horse. With his short back and strong loins, balanced underline, and an overall look of proportion and well put-togetherness, RN Docter Pepper has the appearance of power and exhibits this under saddle. He has the ability to sire cow horses, as well as barrel, rope, and reining horses, and his trainable disposition and quiet demeanor only add to an already impressive package.
~~~~~~~~
RN Docter Pepper was trained for reining, working cow horse, and team penning but was never shown due to unknown circumstances. One can only speculate, but it was certainly not due to a lack of soundness for he was later schooled in roping, which attests to his versatility and level mind. He was retired to the breeding shed at the age of five and remained solely a breeding stallion for the next seven years, during which time his prowess for siring good minded, early maturing colts began to prove itself.
After his purchase by the Angel Spurs Ranch and relocation there in March of 2009, RN Docter Pepper was briefly brought out of retirement in order to better understand his ability. He accepted his duties with grace and surprising athleticism, and he has shown us cow, strength, trainability, and a that his memory is a very good one.
The Ranch has been in recent discussion about his possible debut on the team penning scene. Stay tuned for more as the year develops...
Much of RN Docter Pepper's family doesn't need an introduction - the names of Mr San Peppy, Cutter Bill, Genuine Doc, and Triple Royal speak volumes. But an often overlooked family deserves possibly the most recognition for it's potency and longstanding influence.
~~~~~~~~
RN Docter Pepper traces through his bottom side to the great cutting stallion Royal King an impressive five times. Without the presence of Royal King in the history of the cutting horse, the influences of such noted sires as Highbrow Cat, Peptoboonsmal(2x), Boon A Little(2x), Little Trona, Smart Chic O'Lena, Autumn Acre(4x), Chula Dual, Triple Royal(3x), and Royal Chic Olena(4x) would never have been felt. The sires of tomorrow also carry the blood of Royal King: Third Cutting(3x) and Metallic Cat(3x).
Foaled ten years prior to Doc Bar, Royal King was a distinctive sire in his own right, in that he sired individuals with gentle dispositions and a willing trainability. He also had a gritty determination that he himself displayed in the cutting pen, and is acknowledged as the sire who passed along the hunkering and intense style of today's modern show horses. Royal King himself is the sire of 10 AQHA Champions, 88 working ROM's, 12 Superior cutting horses, 2 Superior reining horses, and 1 Superior western pleasure horse. He is the sire of two NCHA Hall of Fame get, Miss Nancy Bailey and Royal Chess.
Royal King is also found in the pedigree's of many of the industry's top producing mares, including Royal Blue Boon(2x), Autumn Boon(2x), Smart Peppy, and Lynx Melody just to name a few. Royal King's direct daughters have produced 88 Halter point earners, 250 Performance point earners, 21 AQHA Champions, and 6 AQHA Youth Champions with a combined 113 Open Register of Merits, 13 Amateur ROM's, and 25 Youth ROM's. He proved his versatility as the broodmare sire of Dalpha Billy who was an AQHA High-Point Jumping Gelding, and AJQHA Reserve World Champion Jumper. He proved it again through his daughter Miss Nix who was the producer of two Triple-A rated sprinters, Cajon Dimples and Cajon Bar Queen.
